My grandmother used to live in one of Tatay's suburbs in the Philippines where lower middle class houses are still next to tin roof squatter houses. Two years ago during my last visit, I was walking down the road to get to the nearest public transit and I passed by this lovely house. I didn't know what to make of it. It's a tin roof shack but the tailored plants in front and wonderful paint job make it look so cozy. Clearly someone took time to make this humble home look beautiful. It just shows that you don't need a big house or a lot of money to take pride in your home.

When Stars Go Blue by Ryan Adams is such an amazing song. It's the kind of song you play when you get a sudden nostalgia for old lovers and friends -- the ones who had both made you smile and shattered your heart in what seemed like one long instance.

Today I spent the whole day daydreaming that I'm a french girl in Paris who spends her days drinking coffee, riding bikes, and doing freelance work as a writer/photographer/graphic designer. You do it too. don't lie.
